We Have Arrived!

We are here! Everything arrived OK. Anne Davis was able to "sneak" two large backpacks on the planes...one was a "handbag."

When we got to Atlanta and unloaded, Floyd went to return the rental van. Bonnie, Anne and Zech were waiting with the luggage. Lines to check in were long. A man asked Anne if she needed help with all that luggage. She said "yes." Within 10 minutes, we - and our luggage - were checked in. In fact, they were waiting on Floyd when he arrived from returning the rental van. Even then, the counter person called Floyd up and processed his luggage and had his tickets waiting. The whole trip was great...and perhaps most importantly, we all had food on the plane!

Already, this has been a day of "firsts." Zech had his first mango...Anne had her first Kenyan Chai...and both are in Kenya for the first time.

Bernard sends his greetings and love. Our day begins early tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast. We will then go see Mary at her school, travel to Thika, and go to the conference area - all by 11 a.m. We'll keep you posted!

The Dream of Africa is almost a reality!

The Teleios Team will be traveling from Atlanta, GA on June 26 to Nairobi, Kenya arriving 7:20 pm, June 27. We will begin our work with Bernard Kabaru Mwangi, Kenya Director, ALARM participating in the FOBOCK (Fellowship of Baptists of Central Kenya) Annual Leadership Conference, June 28-July 1, near Thika. On July 2, the team will worship with Koinonia Fellowship, a new church in the suburbs of Nairobi. The team of Anne Davis, Zech Horne, Bonnie and Floyd Parker will be joined by Bill Jordan on Sunday, July 2.

On July 3, the team will fly to Dar Es Salaam to meet Frank Mwaisumbe, Daily Bread Life Ministries, and travel by SUV to Iringa. In Tanzania, Anne, Bonnie, and Bill will teach at the Spring Valley Secondary School for Girls. Zech and I will be primarily at the DBLM orphanage with Mpeli and Neema Mwaisumbe. On Sunday, July 9, we all worship with the Kideti Baptist Church (Mpeli M is the Pastor). Teleios Ministry partners assist the church with their Nursery and Primary School which continues to grow. Anne and Zech will work with the teachers and the children. While in Iringa, the team will work with the orphanage. The exciting news is the baptismal service being held on Sunday.

We thank you in advance for your prayers as we finish final preparation and packing for the trip. The team will also be taking with them new science equipment, school supplies, and computer related items.
