Monday: Safari Nairobi to Iringa

Monday was a hurry up and wait day. The morning began with a 7:45 AM meeting, checking out of the Kentmere--the best place to stay in the area, great staff, beautiful grounds, and wonderful restaurant.

Our 9:30 AM planned trip to Wilson Airport for the Missionary Aviation Flight to Tanzania began at 10:15 AM. By God's grace using Jesse's driving skills we arrived only 5 minutes late. We checked through customs and found a beautiful Cessna 206 waiting on us.

Bonnie said, "Where is our airplane?" I said, "There is it is." She said, "No seriously where is our airplane?" Everything fit in the plane, barely, barely, barely within limits. Sometimes I wish that I had not begun pilot training. We had a fairly good flight with some turbulence. When we took off, we flew right over a heard of cape buffalo. Beautiful scenery for the entire trip. But, also we saw how dry the land is right now.

We arrived at 4:30 PM in Iringa. What a blessing to be greeted by Mpeli and Neema Mwaisumbe. Off the children's home to experience the best greeting in the world--the hugs and songs of the DBL Children.

Our Tanzania safari begins...
