Friday: A Day of Gutters and Team Returns
Bonnie, Sadiki, and I jumped into the construction projects while the others were away...not at sunrise but when we rose. We began work on the gutters to prevent severe erosion around the buildings.
Pride has the best of me so I am posting a picture of my namesake, Dr. Floyd, who is just over two years old. Dr. Floyd is a testimony to the best of DBLCH. He was found still in the placenta on a street in near the bus station in downtown Iringa. He came to DLBCH when he was only days old. The staff has done a great job caring for him through some very difficult times. Today, he is healthy, walking, and playing.
When the team arrived home from safari in Ruaha, Caleb and his dad, Kenny, were ready to go. They built Neema shelves for her kitchen. They went into downtown Iringa for lumber and to a hardware store. They had a great time investigating a Tanzanian hardware shop.
It is great to get back together. Tomorrow is the Eastern team's last full day at DBLCH - so much is planned. Sunday will be the flight to Dar Es Salaam with a few hours in the city before boarding the flight to Zurich on their way home.
