Thursday: Off to Ruaha National Park for safari
Everyone was excited about the trip to Ruaha for the safari. Caleb and Meagan took the back, back seat. Lynn Owen took the front seat because all the others jumped in the back. They wanted her to experience the trip to Ruaha through the bush up close and personal. Kenny as always was his laid back, serious self. The team will be out of blog touch until tomorrow night when they return from safari.
This morning, Kelly, Lynn, Kenny, Meagan, Derrick, and Caleb visited Asante Sana Children's Home, Nzihi, on their way to Ruaha. Asante Sana operates under the leadership and direction of Daily Bread Life Children's Home. The children at Asante Sana are younger children ranging in age from toddler to first grade. The team also presented gifts to the staff.
We just received word that they arrived at Mwagusi Safari Camp, Ruaha. Mwagusi has been our choice safari camp since 2004. You can check it out online. The staff has been great to us over the years and has provided the best experience. One interesting fact about the camp is that it is unprotected. It's not unusal for an elephant to wander through camp or a giraffe to be feasting on a nearby tree.
We will return to the blog tomorrow night unless Bonnie or I have something to report.
Just got something to report. Please remember Mpeli's mother in prayer. She has been taken to the hospital in Mbeya. The good news is that a specialist from Europe arrived at the hospital and the staff there wanted him to see Mpeli's mom.
