Sunday: Kidetete and ACTS Fellowship

On Sunday, the team enjoyed a breakfast of fresh--really fresh--pineapple juice. Sooo good not time for photos too busy helping ourselves to the juice. Then we were off to Kidetete Baptist Church for worship. What a great time of worship. The church received us with a traditional tribal dance style as they sang an African hymn in their native HE-HE language. Derrick play the guitar in both worship services. The Rev. Kenny Owen, pastor of FBC in Westminister, SC, and Caleb's father, preached. The church was so gracious in giving us gifts for coming. This was their own idea without Mpeli or Neema's involvement. They gave Kantagas to Kelly, Lynn, Meagan, and Bonnie. Guess who else got a Katanga? Derrick. They gave him one for his new wife, Katelyn. Derrick wore it with pride. After the Kidetete worship service, we hurried of to ACTS Fellowship TZ in Iringa. This is a new church just a couple of years old. Again, Rev. Owen preached, the children of Daily Bread Life Children's Home sang. Rose, one of the students at Tumani University, has a very beautiful voice and sang. She also has been working with the children at DBLCH on their singing as a choir. Floyd led in the Lord's Supper. After worship, the team rested for a little while and enjoyed homemade pizza by Jonas. It was really good. That afternoon we traveled to the DBLCH farm. The corn is up. There are new crops of greens, passion fruit, oranges, peppers, beans, and more. The big news was that we are expecting another calf soon. That will make three so far this year. The goats, pigs, and chickens greeted us. The chickens are producing eggs for the Children's Home. Also, the farm is now producing chickens for meat. The milk from the farm has made a visible difference in the growth and development of the children. They get fresh, whole milk every day. They love it. Milk production now exceeds the Children Home's needs. A local restaurant and travel service loves the milk and regularly buys all that the DLBCH cows produce. Sunday was a great day.
