Safe Arrival In Tanzania!

The Indian Ocean

Bonnie and I have made it to the beautiful side of Dar Es Salaam. We had a very good trip over; all our luggage arrived; no problems.
Mpeli and Obi met us at the airport. When we got to our home in Dar – the Namnani Hotel – there was no power which meant there was no fan. We slept with windows open. And so ended the celebration of my 58th birthday. I thought about how God has brought me a long way from a farm in Marion County, South Carolina to the coast of the Indian ocean. He has truly blessed me!
Today I looked out on the Indian Ocean. There was a fishing boat that had been carved from a single log as it has been for 1,000 years. There was a massive modern freighter sitting at sea. That is the challenge, the reality, and the culture of Tanzania. Modern and ancient side by side…no one really thinks about it. It’s life here, so we go on.
The team from Eastern Industrial Supplies, Inc., is on its way here in just an hour or so. Due to traffic in Dar, it will take us longer to drive to the airport than for the team to fly from Nairobi, Kenya, to Dar…I love Tanzania. It’s great to be back with our family here and sharing it with others.
