Monday: The Work Really Begins

The day began at 5:45 a.m. with a prayer time with the children. That's right, 5:45 a.m. Bonnie and I prayed with the children, then we distributed book bags and pens provided by Teleios Partners. Seeing the children singing and praying as they had their first day back at school for the new year. In some ways I, Floyd, felt a sadness for part of the time. Five of our children are no longer children but have grown are now gone to boarding school for the secondary school education. They scored well enough on national and entrance exams to enter two really good schools. They are doing great. One of the boys, Leonard, now handles the purchasing of the food stuffs for the Children's Home. He is in secondary school and wants to be a business person--Look out Alyn Judkins at Eastern Industrial Supply - he likes purchasing and wheeling and dealing for the best prices of the Children's Home. The Eastern Team really likes him. He has great potential and drive. We are concealing his identity now but it will be revealed in later posts. We began constructing the gazebo-type building for the children to have an outdoor place to study, have their meals, and entertain guests who come. Bonnie, Lynn, and Meagan began painting the classroom building. Kelly worked with two of the DLBCH staff, Yusta and Swiga, on Excel spreadsheets. In the afternoon, the women went to a women's meeting at ACTS Fellowship TZ. Bonnie led a Bible study on stewardship from the stories of Women of the Bible. Kelly led a very practical Q & A time of personal financial management. The women really enjoyed it.
