Masoko Tours and Travel Agency takes us to Ruaha National Park and Mwagusi Safari Camp

When we left Nzihi, we headed for Ruaha National Park, the largest in Tanzania and the second largest in Africa. Also, it is one of the least crowded and least "commercialized" of all game parks. We had a Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning drive. The park was so green! This is the first time in 10 ten years that Bonnie and I have seen the camp so green. It was raining on and off. Roy was our driver and main guide and Gwamaka Mwaisumbe assisted him. We had a great trip. We did not see any big cats. But we saw so many elephants, giraffe, hippos, crocodiles, antelope, gazelles, and many more.

The team stayed at Mwagusi Safari Camp.  Chris Fox, owner, and his staff are the best.  The tents are very comfortable and face the river.   The camp is not enclosed.  Just ask, Alex who had an elephant grazing outside his tent all night--a little more than grazing--the elephant was noisely chowing out.  As mentioned above we did not see in big cats, but at night you could hear them roaring and carrying on.   In the morning, we found tracks but did not see them.  The food is great.   Our teams have been enjoying staying at Mwagusi for 10 years now.    Mpeli and Neema along with their son, Gwamaka have started Masoko Tours and Travel Agency (they have a Facebook page).  The business provides funds for Daily Bread Life Children's Home and its ministries.   Join us on our next trip to serve others and enjoy a day at Ruaha and a night at Mwagusi.   Gwamaka can arrange everything for you.
