Sunday: Broken Down and Building Up
Sunday started out with the challenge of a broken front wheel on the way to Kidete church. It could not have been Floyd's driving. Mpeli was glad that he was in the back riding. That was soon resolved and we were convoyed to the church by Pawdre Scout.
At Kidete church, we were greeted by a great sight. The Bread of Life Secondary School boarding students were in their school uniforms and joining in worship. Tony Johnson led in the Lord's Supper. We always have a great time of worship with them.
We left for ACTS Fellowship in Iringa town in two cars. Mpeli sent three of us on ahead with Pawdre Scout. Pawdre is a very, very careful driver. Before we were in town, Mpeli and the others passed us with Obi them. Obi is a mechanic angel--he had come to repair the SUV and to get us to the ACTS church.
At ACTS church, the other DBLCH children, staff, and ACTS congregation were praising God. The DLBCH choir was singing when we arrived. Alex soon joined in the praise by taking over the drums for the worship team. We all bought greetings. Tony led in the Lord's Supper. Floyd led in a child dedication. He also preached "briefly". Which Sam, Mpeli's son, declared an excellent sermon--especially the brief part. The service concluded with the baptism of Prisca, Mpeli's niece and Bread of Life student, and Tuma, DBLCH child. This is always a special time.
Afterwards, we spent the rest of the day distributing backpacks provided by Teleios partners "as needed" giving. We also had shoes and especially soccer shoes collected by Teleios partners. The children and staff had Christmas all over again. They were so excited.
On Monday, Doreen leaves for college. She will be studying Business Administration and Communication. We are so excited for her. She will be studying in Mbeya about 4 hours from Iringa and Mpeli and Neema's home area. So, she will have plenty of support.
