Negotiating 101

Jambo! Today was a half day of work and then an excursion to town for shopping in the local market! In the morning, half of the crew worked on building the shelves for the children's rooms. Others worked on filling in the sidewalk and fixing doors in the dorms. While fixing the doors, the team attempted to teach Leslie how to use power tools. This lasted all of two minutes until we were down to one drill bit. Needless to say, it was a short lesson!

The rain came down hard last night and continued lightly into the morning. The rainy season is just beginning.

After lunch, we all piled in the cars and rode into town to shop at the market. This was an interesting experience as vendors can be somewhat pushy in trying to bargain for the best deal. Thanks to Floyd teaching us how to pick out the top quality souvenirs and aggressively negotiate, we were able to have a successful shopping trip.

While in town the team had to take time out of their busy schedules to find snacks for the local "cookie monster"  (aka: Leslie). Trey was nice enough to share his snacks in attempt to avoid being fed to the lions.

We'll resume blogging on Friday upon our return from Safari Camp.

Samosa Snack (Yum! Yum!)

Everyone's hard at work while Leslie "plays in the sand."
