WE ARE HERE! IT'S COOOLLLDDD!

Our arrival in Nairobi marked the end of a relatively easy trip. However, we spent 2, yes 2, hours waiting on a visa. Then, we had to find our luggage—one piece remains to be found. Pray for the blue container of Holiday Bible Week supplies that are vacationing somewhere between London and Nairobi. We had bedtime snack about midnight consisting of a grilled chicken hamburger and fries.

Sunday early morning brought a great night’s sleep and the usual really nice breakfast at the Kentmere. The team traveled to Koinonia Baptist Church for worship. This is always a very special time of renewing friendships and exciting worship. The feeling is still strange to be in a permanent structure rather than being surrounded by a tin wall and ceiling. In the afternoon, we had lunch together with Bernard and Mary and discussed the coming bible week at Happy Day Academy. The team met on Sunday night and introduced Mady Bricco to the group. This is going to be a great team.

We were greeted with really--I am serious--really cold weather for Kenya. Sleeping with two blankets and a cover. No one was prepared for temperatures in the upper 50's during the day, wind, and mist. To those who said, "How will you stand the heat there?" I say, "Welcome to a South Carolina winter day."

Tomorrow the camp begins and we are so excited. We cannot wait to hear, "Good Morning, Teacher."

Special Note for Prayer: Wednesday, August 4, Kenyan will be voting on a new Constitution. There is a lot of political activity around this. Many are concerned about it. No problems for us as a team. Please pray for wisdom and for the Christian church to be true to their Lord and his calling upon their life during this time. The potential to divide the country is very real. Pastor Bernard Kabaru Mwangi asks that we pray for peace and godliness. Asante Sana!
