First Day: Great day

Monday was a great day at camp despite the cold, wind, and dampness. The Bible camp began with opening ceremonies. The theme for the week is Sharing Jesus with our Neighbors--Who is our Neighbor. The team has prepared all the academics, crafts, recreation, and bible stories to focus on this theme. The children travel around the world focusing on the continents. They will experience a world of neighbors. Monday was Australia day. Meg was able to move inside and the recreation adapted well to being inside. The beach ball proved to be a great game tool. Rebecca introduced "Dancing Matilda" for Australia along with animals from the sub-continent. The Lucia and Mady had the children make Bull-roars teaching the children to communicate Australian style. The bible story was the Good Samaritan introducing the theme for the week.

The sun broke through just before the camp ended. We had a great lunch of rice and lentels stew. Everyone loves the lentals. We made a quick trip into town for some long shirts. Life is great. Looking forward to tomorrow.

The number of children is down as changes were made to the end of school once again. Monday and Tuesday we have about 70 children. With school ending Tuesday, we expect about 170 on Wednesday.
