Wednesday: First Day of Camp

The children were great the first day.   They and the team had a great first day.    Each day begins with the team having a devotion and meeting time, then it’s breakfast. After breakfast, the children clean their rooms and have a prayer time together.   Each morning Paul and Katie inspect the rooms and give points according to their cleanliness.

Next is the group time with singing and the Bible story for the day.  Today was about Jesus washing the disciples feet—humble service to fellow followers of Jesus Christ.  After large group time they children break up into small groups and go over the lesson and its application in their lives.   There is also a creative time when they express what they learned.   Today the groups prepared dramas for the evening worship time.

We had extra time for games today.   They children had sack races, jumped through hoops, over and under and bean bag toss.   They had a great time and really enjoyed themselves.  After games they went to lunch and a little rest.

In the afternoon, we all walked to the store for a snack.   About 20 of the children had no money; so, some of you helped to them to buy an ice cream.  The store is about a 3 kilometer round trip or 2 mile wslk.    Then, we began our afternoon rotation of music, English, and crafts.   This lasted until almost 6.   At 6 there was soccer, volleyball, and optional games or crafts.   The water was too cold for swimming.   The soccer match was very good one with a score of 7 to 6.

At 7 PM was dinner, followed by the presentation of the morning skits.   They all presented a very good skits.  At evening worship, Zozo and Paul led in singing, Paul Crook, Annamarie Kalanyos, gave their testimonies and Floyd spoke.  It was morning and evening, an outstanding first day.   Children were unbelievably good.   Great day all the way around.
