Wednesday: Village Life and Worship

Wednesday and Thursday will be pictures for now. We now have electricity. Network problems remain. So I am posting pictures while I can.

Picture one is a farm that is now being proposed as a golf course on the way to Kidetete. Can you imagine? The owner had one year left to develop it or the government was taking the land and give to small farmers. So, the plan was changed to a golf course. Keeps the land tied up for about five more years as I understand.

Entrepreneurs cutting and hauling cattle feed to people in town from the villages near Kidetete. The use of bicycles to haul grass for feed, charcoal, eggs, people is a common sight on village roads leading to Iringa

This is our new male pig. He is waiting for supper. You should hear all the pig chorus at supper. I have a video and hope to get it posted.

Kairo, who keeps the DBL Farm, responds to the beautiful music with a meal of corn, soybean, and fish meal.

In the picture a mother with her children are preparing their shamba for planting. Everyone gets involved.

Derrick is the drummer for the DBLCH choir. He does a great job and always with a smile.

The children are singing in evening worship. They have worship in the morning (mostly a prayer time) and in the evening (mostly singing with devotional).
