Farm Day

Today was the longest, hottest, most work done, greatest day yet. Greg, Becky, and Neema took on the task of getting the barbed wire up for the fence. Neema learned how to stretch bob wire, hammer, and brace-a-post. She is so excited about this.

Floyd and Jon were the post hole diggers--no brain just brawn work. No pictures are available because there was no time for pictures. Besides you know who forgot to bring a camera. No names are being called. Best that can be figured Jon and Floyd along with Stephen and Fidelfius dug and set over sixty poles. Meg and Rebecca were the "Pack Girls". For almost every hole dug, they packed the dirt around the poles and made sure they were straight. Those women know how to pack--more than one time the refrain was heard: "Girl, you are packing it!" The pole team finished setting all the poles for the fence except two needed for the gates. Unbelievable amount of work accomplished today. Even though we lost a day yesterday, we are now ahead of schedule. Thank you so much for your prayers. God blessed us with strength, great team work, and willingness to work.

One of the great stories coming out of this is the villagers coming by to see us work. By there on admission, never have they seen Americans--the Muzungu work so hard. Mpeli says our hard work and attitude is bearing a great testimony to the villagers about working hard. Also, that we are doing it because we love the Lord and the children. Was it mentioned how hot it was today. We went through the water.

For lunch we had a delicious box lunch: Hot dogs with green pepper, onions, tomato, and strawberry jam. Yes, it was good. A boiled egg, samosa, and chapati(A tortilla type of bread). Jon, because he was the newbie on the trip was given a special treat of kitabua (Fried rice four sweet like donut).

We were all looking forward to a shower this evening. We were really a tired, dirty looking group. But, everyone on the team talked about what a great day it was. Thank you again and again for your prayers.

We just wanted to share a couple of ladies who greeted us with heavy burdens on their head.
