Today was filled with surprises and blessings.  First, this morning the children expressed themselves during creative time by painting water color pictures of the Bible Story.   Each day, the focus of the stories is on how Jesus transforms/changes lives through His power.  At night, the children share with the big group what their pictures mean.  Amazing how much detail the children remember and share regarding what they have learned.

During recreation, the children’s favorite game seemed to be the two persons in a hoop relay race.  They were really focused on the race.   Over/under is one of their favorite games, although 18 per team made for a long game of over/under.

The highlight of the day was the Gypsy Children’s Camp Invitational World Cup soccer match between the Apalina International Team and the Local Village People team.   The Apalina team jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead.   Late in the game, the Local Village People team staged a rally to close the gap to 6-4.   But, in the end, the chants and songs of victory by the Apalina team rang through the valley and echoed in the mountains.   Rumor was a rematch might come but the Local Village People Team decided not face the champions.

Every night, the children share their songs and pictures.   The leadership team provides testimony by the leaders.  Attila or Floyd brings a message related to the theme.   Zozo is “reintroducing” traditional Gypsy Gospel songs to the children.
