IN ROMANIA

We had an uneventful journey until we arrived in Romania. Once again Bonnie's suitcase with her clothes decided to vacation in Amsterdam on more day. Then, we discovered that our flight to Targu Mures from Bucharest had been cancelled---SNOW!! We were redirected to Cluj where Attila picked us up. Our journey took us through snow and snow on some of the mountains. We arrived "home" at 12:45 AM, October 15th.

We met an woman and her son at the Bucharest Airport. We watched for over an hour as they "discussed" with the Tarom Airlines representative about missing a flight (I was able to snoop and overhear that part). Then, it became obvious this was a serious problem. What we learned through concerned "sticking nose in other people's business" was that their booking agent had made a mistake on their ticket. Their tickets had a 8:25 PM departure but they were booked on a 5:20 PM flight. They had missed their flight but their luggage did not. We heard them trying to call Australia to get someone to send them money to pay for the "extra" needed to take the 8:25 PM flight. Their cellphone had died and they were trying to charge it. We felt led to help them. When I said that I wanted to help them by paying for the "extra", the son said, "We cannot ask you to do that." I said, "You did not ask, we volunteered." I paid the amount. The son said, "This is like an angel. Why did you do this for us?" Our reply, "because we are followers of Jesus." His face beamed--"you are a believer, you are a brother in Christ." Turns out his mother and he had been working to establish a church on a Greek isle. They were actually from Australia but she was Greek. Even more, this was their first day in Romania and they were on their way to Oradea. They asked, "Do you know any churches in the area?" I pointed them to the Oradea Hungarian Baptist Church where Adrian Giorgiov, Pro-Africa is a pastor and Joseph Simon is Senior Pastor. Bonnie and I talked about how this all worked out. Our flight was cancelled which meant we had to wait. Led to our meeting the "missionaries". We can not wait to see them when we visit Oradea later in the month.

Well it's now almost 2 AM and bedtime. Thank you for your prayers.

Praise God for his redemption of every "difficult" situation for his glory! I am so happy you and Bonnie made it safely to Romania and that you will be updating the blog while you are there. My love and prayers are with y'all!
